# Things to do in Powai: beyond the obvious

Most itineraries give Powai one line: "see the lake." The suburb deserves better. Here's what we actually send our guests to do.

## Walk the lake promenade at dawn

Before 7 AM, Powai Lake belongs to joggers, herons and the occasional folklore about crocodiles. The light on the water against the Hiranandani skyline is the neighbourhood's best free show.

## Get lost inside IIT Bombay

One of Mumbai's greenest square kilometres. The lakeside campus road is an easy, shaded walk; if you're visiting during a cultural festival, the campus becomes a city of its own.

## Do the Hiranandani high street properly

Neo-classical facades, cafés, bookstores and everything from coastal thalis to microbreweries. Go in the evening when the street lights up.

## Eat where the offices eat

The lanes around the L&T campus and Saki Vihar Road hide the vada pav stalls, dosa counters and lunch homes that feed Powai's workforce. Cheaper and better than most food courts.

## Monsoon bonus: the viewpoints

From July to September, the hills behind Powai turn green and the lake fills to its edges. Even a rickshaw ride along Adi Shankaracharya Marg becomes scenic.

## Base yourself well

Everything above sits within fifteen minutes of our door. Couples usually take the Cedar Deluxe; if the trip is an occasion, The Mahogany Soak — the only room in the house with a bathtub — is the way to end those monsoon walks.
Lake Bloom Residency is a renovated boutique 3-star hotel opposite the lane of L&T Gate No. 6, Saki Vihar Road, Powai — independently managed since 2026, so direct bookings always get our best rate. Check availability or WhatsApp +91 86524 06646.
